FishinAZ.com is part of a network of outdoor sites in Arizona to provide anglers everywhere a complete fishing resource. Southern Arizona Bass fishing is our major theme, however we will also cover Northern Pike, Walleye, other Bass and all the other fish found in Southern Arizona and all over. While Bass fishing is probably the most popular of game fish Northern Pike are one of our favorites and are a challenge to catch as well.

Lake Arivaca

Location Description:
There are very few facilities at the lake, very hilly but with some nice areas to fish from shore. This lake is worth the trip if you live in Tucson or Southern Arizona. We enjoy this lake best in the canoe, because it has so much plant life and is not too big

WOW top water action was great. Bass Assassin on the weeds made for an exciting time. 7 caught in total from sunrise until about 8AM. Biggest was 5-6 lbs. Water level still low. Someone managed to launch a 18ft procraft though so it must be somewhat deep. Low visibility. ..about 2 feet.

Went twice this week due to the holiday. Water level is low. Ramp out of the water. Rain should help that soon. Anyway soft plastics always working well. Weeds arent too bad like last year. Decent morning bite.

Went there the past 2 weeks in the morning. Each week we each caught a few early in the morning. Basically worm or lizard we threw caught something. watermelon and purple.
VERY Weedy!! sucks when you are in a foat tube

Also, water level is VERY low. Have to launch a boat from shore as the ramp is WAY out of the water.

Bass fishing has slowed down some due to the cold temperatures, but people are still finding some action. The warmer weather this week could change things. The water level has come up some but is still low. Only car-top boats that can be hand-launched are recommended. Using buzzbaits early in the morning has produced some action. Otherwise, use various plastic baits, working the structure along the lakeshore. Remember, all bass must be immediately released back to the water. The mercury advisory for all warm water fish is still in effect.

wtaer level is EXTREMELY LOW. you can not launch a boat at this lake! Maybe a small aluminum if you want to wade in mud up to your waist. Road in was severely weather damaged. need 4X4 to cross some parts. Very disappointed.

The fishing has slowed down some, however, it is still fairly good. Try buzzbaits or spinnerbaits on top in the early morning and evening. Plastic worms and salamanders are still a good choice. Remember, all bass must be immediately released back to the water. The mercury advisory for all warmwater fish is still in effect.
